1. Từ vựng về Sports

2. Cue card và bài mẫu thường gặp về Sports

Describe an outdoor sport you played for the first time. You should say:

– what you did

– where and when you did it

– how you felt about it later

– and say if you would recommend this activity to your friends.

I’ve played just about every sport under the sun and I can say with absolute confidence that the most enjoyable was Rugby, especially when playing it for the first time. Some of the boys in the year above us played a daily lunchtime game of rugby on the main oval at school and one fateful day, my group of friends decided to join in.

We all loved it from the first minute. It was fast paced, it built camaraderie between it’s players quickly and rewarded personal attributes like bravery and commitment rather than physical traits. For many of us, it was our first real experience of any sort of physical confrontation and for a teenage boy, the confidence it inspired in you was life-changing.

From the very first time I got knocked over and got back up I felt different. I wasn’t scared anymore. It was the first time that I realized how quickly fear goes away once you understood something on a physical level. All of us were bowled over by this new experience and not long after you could find us training every lunchtime and playing rugby outside of school on the weekends.

I personally think that every young man should give rugby a try at least once, to experience something truly unique and learn something profound about himself.

Describe an activity you do when you are alone in your free time. You should say:

– What you do

What do I do in spare time? Well there’s lots of different things I could tell you about – I’m a pretty active person and I like to keep myself busy, so even when I’m not working I’m always doing something.

I suppose my favourite activity when I am alone in my free time is simply riding my bicycle. I moved to live close to a large lake in the center of Hanoi capital about a year now and it’s a city famous for being bike friendly – perhaps because it’s so flat. So I decided to buy myself a bike. At first it was just to go to work but I enjoyed it so much that I also started cycling for fun.

I would just ride around the city by myself – going through some of the parks and down by the riverside. Then I discovered that there was a really active Cycling Club. It’s really just a group of people who like to get out and about on the weekend, but I don’t think that I want to join with them because cycling alone is much interesting. I don’t tend to go very far – normally only around 20-25 miles and don’t race. The idea is just to enjoy the day and I normally end up in one of the local villages and have a meal or picnic before heading back into the city.

I enjoy cycling alone because it’s of course good exercise and I like to keep fit. But it’s a bit more than that. It allows me to get out of the city and see some of the countryside while I still have my own space.

Describe a water sports you would like to try in the future. You should say:

– What it is

– When you first watched the sport

I have to confess that I am not a sport lover and hardly take up any sports at all. But recently I watched some competitions on TV in the ASIAD 2018 and was quite impressive with a common sport, which is swimming.

Unlike other sports, there are no rules to follow when you swim. Basically, swimming is just combination of your leg and arm motions and the natural floatation of the body. To progress as a swimmer, you need to take up exercise and practice with a personal trainer as well as wear some special swimming costumes such as swim cap or glasses to protect your hair and eyes from chemicals in swimming pool.

I came across a swimming competition when coming home from work and found my father stick his eyes to TV sreen. I guessed it should be something very spectacular or interesting and it drew my attention. I came closer to my TV and watched with him, and at the end I found it worth trying.

I want to play this sport because of two main reasons. It helps me get into shape and build endurance because it provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of my muscles are used during swimming. Additionally, I also feel liberal and flexible when I’m deep into the water. All daily stress and hardness are set aside when I come to swimming pool where my whole body and brain are released. Finally, it is clear that swimming pool is an ideal place to help me escape from the extremely hot weather in the summer.

All in all, I cannot fly as a bird but water is my own sky where I feel I’m flying, so I will definitely learn how to swim.
